• What do I need to start?
• Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. Looe Divers' regular schedule is for anybody over the age of 15.
• What will I do?
• Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing five pool/confined water dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four sea/open water dives.
• How long will it take?
• PADI programmes are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. At Looe Divers, we schedule our PADI Open Water Diver courses to run over evenings and weekends, allowing you to complete the course without having to take time from work.

• What will I need?
• PADI Open Water Diver Crew-Pak. Your quest for adventure can’t begin without the wealth of knowledge you will need to navigate through the waters. The Crew-Pak is an all-encompassing tool kit that will provide you with educational information and pictorials within the PADI Open Water Diver Manual.
• PADI Open Water Diver DVD. SRP £25 - you may purchase the DVD for £20 when you sign up for the course.
• Where can I go from here?
• Continue the adventure with Looe Divers and Go Diving! We have some great dives from the shore to get you going and when you are ready, progress with some more training and get out with us on our dive boat. We offer a range of follow on courses and recommend our one day PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course as your first step after completing your Open Water.

Our PADI Open Water Diver Courses generally run in the evenings for knowledge development and pool training (up to 5 sessions), then open water sea dives (4) on weekend days or in the evenings during the week (summer). We tend to pick the best tide times and conditions to make our sea dives, so scheduling has to be flexible.

You can conduct your knowledge development (theory) now with PADI eLearning, then complete your confined water (pool) training with us here at Looe Divers.

Then you can either take your open water (sea) dives with us here in Looe or alternatively you can conduct your four qualifying sea dives anywhere in the world at a PADI Dive Centre e.g. whilst on holiday.
