Take the first step in your dive career and become a Looe Divers' Divemaster. Working closely with our team of experienced PADI Instructors, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.
What can PADI Divemasters do?
Work at local dive centres, on live-aboard dive boats, yachts and at exotic
resort locations.
Assist PADI Instructors with students.
Lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours.
Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers.
Teach PADI Discover Snorkelling programs.
Conduct PADI Scuba Review programs for certified divers.
Lead certified divers on Discover Local Diving experiences.
Teach Emergency First Response programs after successful completion
of an Emergency First Response Instructor course.
Teach the Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Course after successfully completing a Digital Underwater Specialty Instructor course.
Teach the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Specialty Course after successfully completing an Emergency Oxygen Provider Specialty Instructor Training Course.
Conduct the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience after successfully completing a PADI Discover Scuba Diving Professional Internship with Looe Divers' PADI Instructors.
What do I need to start?
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or qualifying certification from another training organisation
PADI Rescue Diver certification or qualifying certification from another training organisation.
EFR Primary Care and Secondary Care or equivalent within the last 2 years
Medical clearance signed by a physician - Submit at course enrolment an approved HSE Commercial Diver's Medical exam form for a diving medical examination within the last 6 months.

Proof of 20 logged dives for enrolment in the course & proof of 60 logged dives prior to certification (increase your logged dive experience throughout your Divemaster Internship)

What will I do?
Learn dive leadership through classroom and independent study sessions
Complete water skills and stamina exercises in confined and open water
Training exercises to test organisational and problem solving abilities
Mapping a dive site including underwater and surface features
Equipment exchange: demonstrate the ability to solve unanticipated problems underwater
Conduct a simulated or actual class, under the supervision of a PADI Instructor
An internship (see below)
How long will it take?
Three months - nine months (PART-TIME evening and weekend schedule - no need to take time from work)

Learn from Looe Divers' experienced Centre Staff and Dive Team in a real time resort location & diving in the Sea!

Duration: 3 - 9 months part-time with evenings & weekends (Divemaster Internship)
