PADI National Geographic Diver / Specialty Course
Most
PADI Divers are fascinated with the aquatic world, which inspires them
to learn more. Because you have already learned the theory and skills
of diving, the National Geographic Portal / Specialty gives you the opportunity to
build on your dive experience to learn about new adventures,
exploration and conservation opportunities.
The National Geographic Specialty will help you take your dive experiences to a new level. How? You’ll learn more about the world’s oceans and waterways and discover details that will enhance your personal dive adventures.
During the National Geographic Specialty, you’ll take your exploration skills to an advanced level by collecting data to construct a visual representation of what you explored. This project may result in a map, graph, sketch, diagram, photo essay or video. You and your instructor will decide on your area of focus and plan your dive accordingly. You’ll also gain navigational skills that will aid in the exploration process. Your exploration skills will give you a new appreciation for the aquatic environment and add enjoyment to each dive. You’ll find yourself sharing your discoveries with other divers and becoming a true underwater ambassador.
Whether
you are a certified PADI Diver or certified by another organization, you can
take advantage of the National Geographic Portal / Specialty. The National Geographic Specialty consists of a knowledge review based on information from the National Geographic
Diver Almanac and DVD. In addition, you'll fine-tune your buoyancy,
navigation, exploration, and observation skills while on three Adventure open water dives.

PADI National Geographic Diver Specialty Course Pre-requisite: PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent with recent UK Sea Diving experience (within the last 6 months)
MINIMUM AGE:15
PADI National Geographic Diver Specialty Participant Price £150 including National Geographic Diver Almanac, National Geographic Diver DVD and certification.
Duration: 2 or 3 days
Typical schedule:
Day 1 am: Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure Dive 1 (counts towards National Geographic Diver Specialty & PADI Advanced Open Water)
Day 1 pm: Optional Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure Dive 2 (gain the benefits of the full PPB Specialty Course and a second certification!)
Day 2 am: Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive 1 (counts towards National Geographic Diver Specialty & PADI Advanced Open Water)
Day 2 pm: National Geographic Exploration Adventure Dive (counts towards National Geographic Diver Specialty & PADI Advanced Open Water)
NB On our 1 Day National Geographic Diver Specialty Schedule, we conduct PPB Dive 1, Navigation Dive 1 & Exploration Dive on a single day.
Day 3 am: (Optional Upgrade to full PADI Advanced Open Water Diver) Deep Adventure Dive 1 (counts towards PADI Advanced Open Water)
Day 3 pm: (Optional Upgrade to full PADI Advanced Open Water Diver) Wreck, Boat or Drift Adventure Dive 1 (counts towards PADI Advanced Open Water)
Equipment required: Mask, Fins & Snorkel, all other equipment is provided free of charge. Looe Divers recommend purchasing your own suit for correct fit, safety and comfort prior to course commencement.

If you are wanting to get back into diving or if you have not dived in the UK sea for a while, then our full Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty followed by our National Geographic Diver Specialty course is a great, comfortable and fun way to do it!
